This book by Sinclair Ferguson takes a close look at Jesus’ famous sermon on the mount. Spanning a few chapters, this sermon has been studied and admired for years, but many people, including Christians, don’t understand its full meaning and the impact it should have on the Christian life. Breaking down the key components in great detail, Ferguson focuses first on the main point then discusses the minutia that speaks to the Christian. Beginning with the proper Christian attitude of bring poor in spirit, the author takes the time to shine light on this often admired, yet very misunderstood sermon, and explaining everything in simple, yet powerful language. If you are a Christian, definitely check this book out. Ferguson really helps to show that the Christian life can and should be lived according to this sermon, what he calls the greatest sermon ever recorded. The aspects of this book will carve themselves into your very soul and then begin to be reflected through your life lived for Christ. Recommended to all Christians, especially those struggling to live a holy, godly life. This is a good first step to take in understanding how God wants us to live.
