This was a top-notch hitman tale (based on a novel by George Higgins, also the author of The Friends of Eddie Coyle adapted to an excellent crime film starring Robert Mitchum). Ben Mendelsohn plays a real slime ball petty criminal, Brad Pitt plays a real cool hitman who equates Wall Street tycoons as just dressed up criminals, and James Gandolfini as a drunken lecherous hitman. Ray Liotta also played the role of a thieving gambler hall owner who made one big mistake in life. One of the hit scenes is played in slow motion like a bunch of ballerinas dancing around – some real creativity there.
