Fresh, funny and far more engaging than I anticipated. The delete scenes not only comprise another film -- but lend a great deal of insight into the way the film was somewhat improvised into existence.
An entertaining movie that examines the relationship between two middle aged comedians as they travel around England. The movie explores the dynamic between two the two men, as their close quarters forces them to keep the other at a safe emotional distance, while simultaneously trying to establish some kind of connection with their fellow man. The results are entertaining, comical, and insightful.
If you are looking for slap-stick humour don't bother. This is for those who appreciate subtle humour. My friends and I had to pause the movie to laugh our heads off for several minutes during the scene where they are on route in the car and talking about a movie where the "King" gives the speech "Gentlemen, to bed, for tomorrow we rise at....". There were several other scenes that we found hilarious. The Extras are almost as long as the movie. We loved it.
Rated 1/10. Hate this series. I saw "The Trip To Italy first, which was bad enough. More of the same boring babble in this first movie in this series. Note to myself: Do not bother with "The Trip To Spain", or any subsequent drivel. I don't know how anyone could find any of these shows entertaining. It's just irritating.
This is a funny film about a road trip two aging friends make when offered the chance to review restaurants along the way.
This had me considering my most recent road trip, and how we entertained ourselves along the way. Not nearly as funnily, that's for sure!
Brilliant! Best part of the show is the pants-pissingly funny improv in the car between Coogan and Brydon which begins with "Gentlemen, to bed!" I give The Trip four stars.
Genuinely a very funny film- something that sadly is a rarity nowadays in most ' comedies '. Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon have a great comedic chemistry.
Quirky humour and gorgeous looking food and scenery. Not your average buddy road trip movie.
