I watched this movie after reading the book and I was so disappointed in it. It cut out so much of the book that you really didn't know what you were watching due to so many gaps. At no point did we really see Tessa go to the internship she had, they also changed the living conditions to what was written in the book, and the ending was just created for the movie as the ending in the novel was when they were at the bar and Tessa found out about the bet/challenge. I also didn't like the actor they chose for Hardin as they made Hardin sound intimidating, the actor was not at all how I pictured that character, however he did a good job.

I’ll try to read the book maybe there’s more substance in the book

Nice soundtrack though .

I spent way to much time on this. Two immature collage students. That Hardin was a real weirdo, moody and unpredictable.

Based on the international best-selling book, this film supposedly shows an impressive drama, but it turns out a disappointing flop simply because all the characters appear flat, if not likable---nobody I'd like to identify with.

After is a 2019 romantic drama that I found to be horribly written and executed. The movie is about newly high school grad Tessa Young as she and her world and everything she's known about herself turned upside down when she meets the mysterious Hardin Scott. This movie is less of a movie and more of many lacklustre scenes thrown together. The actors seem very robotic and the leads for the majority of the movie lack real chemistry with each other. Not to mention with the predictability of this movie it really should have been cut much shorter than an hour forty-five minutes. 1 Star

I have seen other badly acted films but at least I keep watching because of the good story.
This one was beyond crap! First of all, it starts with a girl - who is already dating a nice guy who is helpful to her - falling for a mentally and verbally abusive boy who has no respect for her dignity or personal space and uses every occasion to put her down. Oh, yes, and he is a player but since he pays a little attention to her, all these abusive behavior is forgiven.
The audience of this atrocity is the clueless teenage generation that goes to see romance films like this one, for love advice to use in their own relationships, and watches one fake orgasm after another on porn sites and think they are learning about sex!
Shame on filmmakers and shame on the library for putting this in their collection!

I'm almost always down for a cheesy, cliche romance, and that's why I chose to watch this movie. But I couldn't get past the unfaithfulness; it ruins a movie completely for me. I disliked both of the main characters but felt as though viewers were meant to like them and enjoy their budding love, even though it was unrealistic from the beginning. No character was thoroughly developed, and their 'rough pasts' didn't add anything to the story, but were instead just typical and served as excuses for the ways the characters acted. If anything, I found myself rooting against the success of their relationship and feeling bad for Noah. The movie romanticizes toxic behavior: cheating, self-pity, breaking things when you get upset, etc., and makes it seem as though these behavior are excusable when they absolutely should not be. This is not a movie I would want to watch again.

Follows the formula of innocent girl attracted to misunderstood bad boy. Poor dialogue poorly acted. Teenage love story with little to interest adults.
