Two random strangers. Two secrets. Thirty-six questions to make them fall in love. Hildy and Paul each have their own reasons for joining the university psychology study that asks the simple question: Can love be engineered? The study consists of 36 questions, ranging from "What is your most terrible memory?" to "When did you last sing to yourself?" By the time Hildy and Paul have made it to the end of the questionnaire, they've laughed and cried and lied and thrown things and run away and come back and driven each other almost crazy.

I haven't read any "mostly dialogue" books before and in chapter two I found it remarkably refreshing to just have them banter back and forth about the questions. When the story moved on I found I really missed their conversation, so the book took a bit of a dive but I wanted to hear all 36 questions so I kept reading. I also peeked at the Goodreads reviews and was surprised to see people either LOVED this format or hated it. Not since 50 Shades of Grey have I seen such a dichotomy. Well, I was a strong like. Only chapter I really didn't like was chapter 9 (I'm a personal trainer and I cringed reading "picked up barbells" (it's dumbbells, the short weights; barbell is the long one but you can't use two of them) and "count to 75" (no guy I know trains past about twenty reps. A gay one? Well...) I found myself wanting to offer up as a beta reader for anyone putting any sort of physical fitness or gym scene in their book... But suspending disbelief, I found myself rooting for the characters even if others found them flimsy. 3.75 stars. Okay, rounded up, you get four... Strong enough review for me that I'll look for other Vicki Grant books!

This is a cute, teen lit, fluffy book. The plot is fairly predictable, but it's a fun little read.

A very fun, fluffy book. You know where this is heading but you're rooting for the protagonists, especially as Hildy's parents are fighting, and events conspire against Hildy meeting up with Paul. The pretense of using those 36 questions is an interesting hook. I liked the cartoons
