The first half of the book, I felt like Ten whined a lot. I was afraid I'd have to give up on the series. But she adjusted to her chosen faction and started to settle in, so I stuck around. I hope the last book redeems this one. I'm ready to see Ten to become who she is meant to be.

The second book in the series was not quite what I had expected. Not only did we not get to explore Ten's chosen faction as much as thought was going to happen, but it seemed all the rules were thrown out the window to throw her and Killian together as much as possible when she was not supposed to be allowed to go to Earth for her first year in order to spend time training. This then resulted in a feeling of just jumping all over the place for really no reason, making it hard to follow any story that made sense. There were also a handful of characters just thrown at the reader in the beginning of the novel, who would pop up randomly and really make you think about who they were supposed to be, just to have them really be nobody important. The ending also left quite a bit to be desired.. here's hoping the third book is bit more cohesive.
