Meet 2SLGBTQ+ authors Kevin Craig and M-E Girard for a discussion about their award-winning young adult fiction. 

KEVIN CRAIG is the author of young adult fiction. Their young adult titles are; SUMMER ON FIRE, BURN BABY BURN BABY, HALF DEAD & FULLY BROKEN, PRIDE MUST BE A PLACE, THE CAMINO CLUB and BOOK OF DREAMS. THE CAMINO CLUB, was the 2021 Silver Winner in the Independent Book Publishers Association’s Benjamin Franklin Award. Their adult themed novels are SEBASTIAN'S POET and THE REASONS. Kevin’s latest title, I WILL TELL THE NIGHT, also adult themed, is a family saga LGBTQ+ literary novel. Kevin is also a poet and a playwright. They have had twelve short and one-act plays produced for the stage.

M-E Girard‘s debut GIRL MANS UP (September 2016, HarperTeen | HarperCollins Canada) was a Lambda Literary Award winner and a William C . Morris YA Debut Award finalist. She lives just outside of Toronto, Canada, where she splits her time between writing YA fiction, being a mom, and working as a registered nurse. M-E dedicated the bulk of her nursing career to working with special-needs kids, and more recently, she was an ER and ICU nurse during the first waves of the pandemic. A 2013 and 2015 Lambda Literary Fellow, M-E is a proud feminist who is endlessly fascinated with what it means to be a girl–especially a queer, fat girl.
